TESS WILSON:
A PORTFOLIO
A little about me:
I'm a midwest kid who transplanted herself to Pittsburgh, PA, to pursue her education.
I earned an MFA in Poetry & Publishing in 2013 and an MLIS in Youth Library Services in 2017
My current work includes public library service, freelance art and writing, mentor training, and community education.
A little about my art and design:
I focus on storytelling through whichever medium I'm working with. I illustrated the cover of This Time: An Anthology and served as lead designer for the Pittsburgh Poetry Project, providing branding for our website and layout for our broadsides. I was invited to serve as Guest Editor for the Fall 2018 issue of Young Adult Library Services and to contribute my work to the Trash to Thrash Skateboards fundraiser. I have also worked as a freelance photographer and digital photography instructor for classes of all ages.
A little about my writing:
While pursuing my MFA, I served as Poetry Editor at The Fourth River Magazine, Assistant Editor at Hyacinth Girl Press, and contributed content for Hipcamp during their initial content-building phase. My poetry has appeared in Inscape Magazine, NEAT Magazine, the annual Free Poems Series, Squad of Sisters zine, IDK Magazine, New Poetry from the Midwest, The Manhattanville Review, and The Crawl Space Journal.
